Johnna B. McArthur

As a founding partner of McArthur, Boedeker & Hammond, Johnna B. McArthur brings extensive legal expertise to her practice. Raised in West Texas, she earned her degrees from the University of North Texas and Baylor University School of Law.

Johnna specializes in criminal defense and family law, dedicating herself to helping individuals and families navigate difficult situations. As a diligent advocate, she strives for the best possible outcomes for her clients. In addition, she is a certified mediator for general civil and family law matters, excelling in high-conflict negotiations to reach agreements without court intervention.

 

Before co-founding the firm, Johnna interned with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office. She has since represented clients across North Texas, including Johnson, Hood, Somervell, and Erath Counties, as well as smaller surrounding areas.

Andrea Boedeker

Andrea Boedeker, co-founder and managing partner of McArthur, Boedeker & Hammond, offers extensive experience and a strong commitment to clients in Johnson County and beyond.

Andrea’s journey began in Cleburne, TX, where she attended Howard Payne University’s Multidisciplinary Honors Program before earning her law degree at Texas A&M University School of Law. There, she actively participated in the law clinic, collaborated with the Innocence Project, and engaged with various legal associations.

While still a law student, Andrea obtained a 3L bar card and provided pro bono legal services, gaining valuable skills and insights into the challenges faced by those navigating the legal system.

Andrea specializes in estate planning, family law, and criminal defense. She particularly enjoys helping clients secure their legacies and protect their families’ futures. Her diverse practice allows her to assist clients through various life stages and legal challenges.

Michael Hammond

Michael Hammond is a seasoned attorney with expertise in civil litigation, real estate disputes, probate and guardianship, municipal law, oil and gas, water law, and land use and zoning. Raised in Arlington, TX, he graduated from Lamar High School. He earned his BA in Political Science from The University of Texas at Arlington, followed by a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

Michael began his career practicing oil and gas law in Cleburne during the Barnett Shale boom. He then worked at a Houston firm before moving to Pittsburgh, where he established an oil and gas practice group at a national firm. After eight years, he transitioned to a smaller firm focused on municipal law, land use, and civil litigation.

 

In 2021, Michael and his family returned to Cleburne to better serve clients in a smaller community. A former “big law” partner, he thrives on tackling clients’ toughest challenges, offering personalized advocacy that builds strong relationships.

Known for his fierce advocacy while respecting the judicial process, Michael willingly takes on cases others refuse, embracing complex legal challenges. He feels fortunate to earn his clients’ trust and is proud of his diverse legal skills and experiences.

Michael is licensed to practice in Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio, as well as in the federal courts of the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Northern District of Texas, and the Northern District of West Virginia.
